Did the BTCC make Britain Google the Audi S3 Saloon?

Something odd happened to the Audi S3 Saloon this year. Everyone started Googling it.
Back in November 2025, UK searches for ‘Audi S3 saloon’ sat at around 5,400 a month. By March and April 2026, that had shot up to 9,900. That's a jump of more than 80% in five months.
So what changed? We have a fair idea. Power Maxed Racing swapped to the S3 Saloon for the 2026 BTCC. Then, at the very first race of the season at Donington Park, Mikey Doble was handed the win after Tom Ingram was disqualified. A brand new car, winning first time out.
By the time the season wrapped up at Brands Hatch in October, the team had a treble. Doble won the Independent Drivers' title, Dexter Patterson took the Jack Sears Trophy and the team bagged the Independent Teams' crown.
Now, we're car people, not statisticians, so let's be fair. Search numbers tell you when people looked, not why. Interest was already climbing in January, and the S3 always gets more attention in spring. But searches for the S3 as a whole grew by around half over the same months. The saloon grew by over 80%. Something gave it a nudge, and a four-door Audi on the top step is a pretty good suspect.
Even now the season's done, the saloon is still pulling around 8,100 searches a month.
"There's an old saying in racing. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday," says John Glover, Operations Director at Awesome.
"We can't prove the BTCC did this. But you can see why people got curious. An Audi saloon on the top step at the first round makes you look twice at the one parked down your street. "
"If you were one of those searchers and you now own one, enjoy it. It's a quick car straight from the factory. The race car and your car are very different under the skin, so don't chase the race car. Get the basics right first. Service it properly, check the brakes and tyres and know the car is healthy. Then talk to someone who will put it on a dyno before and after any change. That way you know what you've gained, not just what you were promised."
That last bit is where we come in. The S3 Saloon is already a properly quick thing, with 333PS and 0 to 62mph in 4.7 seconds.
Our workshop in Manchester has its own dyno so any change we make gets measured not guessed. If you want to see what's out there for your car, have a browse of our Audi S3 (8Y) parts. Or pop in, give us a ring. You'll talk to a real person who knows these cars and we won't push you towards something you don't need.
