Servicing
Finding a VAG specialist you can actually trust is harder than it should be. Most people end up at a main dealer by default - not because it's the best option, but because they don't know there's a better one. We've been that better option since 1989, looking after VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda from our fully equipped workshop in Irlam, Manchester. Expect dealer-spec tools, genuine parts, VAG Group Quantum oil and staff who drive the same cars you do. Basically, we know our stuff.

Servicing Your Car Without Voiding the Warranty
This one surprises a lot of people. Thanks to the EU Block Exemption Rule, any independent garage can carry out routine servicing during your car's warranty period, as long as approved parts are used. We use genuine VAG parts and the correct oil as standard, so your warranty stays intact and your car gets looked after properly. You don't have to sit in a main dealer waiting room with a coffee machine that's been broken since 2019.
VAG Servicing: What's Actually Included
Interim Service: every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first
This covers the essentials. Fresh oil, oil filter and sump plug as standard using VAG Group Quantum oil direct from the main dealers. From there we work through the whole car: fluid levels, lights, brakes, tyres, drive belts, fuel system, cooling system, wheel bearings, suspension, driveshafts, brake lines, exhaust and seatbelts. We finish with a full computer diagnostics check using Ross-Tech VAG-COM, reset the service light, road test and a service wash.
Full Service: every 24 months or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first
Everything in the Interim, plus air filter, spark plugs on petrol cars and fuel filter on diesels. We also lubricate all moving parts, check brake fluid quality, antifreeze, gear oil, diff oil where accessible, all controls and switches, handbrake adjustment where possible and the air conditioning and pollen filter. Basically a proper going-over.
Pricing is on application.
VAG Specialist Near Manchester
We're in Irlam, a short drive from Manchester city centre, and have been specialising in VAG cars since before most of our customers passed their tests. Whether your car is standard, mapped or somewhere in between, we know these cars inside out. If it's got a VAG badge, we can look after it.
For tuned cars we'd recommend more frequent servicing than the standard schedule, because a car making more power needs more attention to stay on top form. We'll advise on the right interval for your setup when you call.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a VAG specialist?
VAG stands for Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, which is the group that owns VW, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Cupra and a few others. A VAG specialist is a garage that focuses specifically on these cars rather than working across every make and model. The advantage is depth of knowledge. VAG engines, gearboxes and electronics have their own quirks, their own known issues and their own service requirements. A specialist who works on these cars every day is going to know things a general garage simply won't.
Can I service my car outside of the VAG dealer network?
Yes, and you don't have to take our word for it. The EU Block Exemption Rule is the legislation that makes it legal. As long as the garage uses approved parts and follows the correct service schedule, your manufacturer warranty remains valid. We use genuine VAG parts and VAG Group Quantum oil as standard, so you're covered.
Do I really need to service my car every year?
The honest answer is yes, particularly on a performance or tuned car. Standard intervals are a minimum, not a ceiling. A car that's making more power than the factory intended is working harder and needs more attention to stay reliable. For mapped cars we typically recommend more frequent oil changes and check-overs than the standard schedule. It's the kind of thing that costs very little compared to what happens when you don't.
What oil, filters and plugs do you use as VAG Specialists?
We use VAG Group Quantum oil supplied directly from the main dealers and approved OEM parts throughout. This keeps us compliant with the EU Block Exemption ruling and means your car's warranty stays valid. No grey area, no shortcuts.
What service does my car need?
If your dashboard is telling you, trust it. If not, check your service book for what was done last time. As a general rule, services alternate between Interim and Full each year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. Not sure? Give us a call and we'll look it up from your registration.
