What does GTI Stand For?

Quite simply GTI stands for Grand Touring Injection, originating from the Italian Gran Turismo Iniezione.
To us at Awesome GTI it means a car we can tune, modify and enjoy!
We have been tuning GTI’s since 1989 and now, all VAG vehicles from Amarok to Yeti and everything in between.
The GTI started it for us, but it doesn’t end there!
Common questions we are asked are…
Is the Golf GTI faster than an R? – well, like for like out of the box no, however with some tuning, maybe a turbo upgrade we have seen MK7 GTI’s north of 500bhp!
What does GTD stand for? – Grand Touring Diesel, a great model for those who need some more MPG but still would like so performance great looks and handling!
Is a GTI a fast car? – Of course speed is all relative but by today’s everyday car standards, yes the GTI is quick, even quicker when you bring it to us for software and hardware modifications!
