The RacingLine Higher-Output Ignition Coils are a direct plug-and-play upgrade from the OE ignition coils. Whether an engine is standard or Stage 3 tuned, it will immediately benefit from the greater energy output and stronger, more consistent spark generated by a set of RacingLine Ignition Coil Packs.
These deliver a 10% increase in output energy versus OE. This greater output is perfect for drivers looking to maximise output from either a stock or modified car.
Why have RacingLine settled on a 10% gain in output energy for our Coil Packs? Because this is the optimum increase level for VWG's TSI engines. Beyond this, no additional benefit is gained, yet the coil's internal temperatures begin to rise sharply.
So at this level, our Coil Packs can maintain coil voltage under load with little or no drop-off, performing consistently from idle through to the shift point or red-line.
Replacement is all the more worthwhile on older engines still running the OE Coil Packs. A new set makes a great preventative maintenance upgrade to avoid the risk of misfires caused as the OE Coil Packs age and gradually break down.
Fitment couldn't be an easier. These are a simple plug and play replacement. Remove the OE Coil Packs, replace with our Higher-Output versions.

Notes:
- Please use a small amount of silicone grease inside the rubber tube of the coilpack before installation.
- This will help with removal the next time you change your plugs.

I bought these, as our car has reached its 10-year birthday and around 92k miles, and figured the coil packs would benefit from a refresh. Given that the car, is 'Stage 1' with other Racingline supporting mods, and OEM replacements are more expensive than these, it made sense to opt for these upgrades.
I cannot comment, on everyones usage, but we saw a marked improvement in the smoothness of the engine (particularly, starting and shutting off). Also, a more consistent power delivery at the top end - I'm not claiming we gained any more power, rather, these coil packs reclaimed that lost power due to underperforming and old coil packs.
If you have a modified car, then why not take advantage of a slightly stronger spark and support your engine from as many angles as you can? Delivery was super fast from Awesome, and items were packaged accordingly. This is my first purchase here, and ill probably return. A free sticker or air freshener wouldn't have gone a miss though!
Thought I'd give these Racingline coilpacks a try on my Cupra 280, and they seem to work great. I do seem to get a smoother idle and they work well with my stage 2 tune. Would recommend
