Frequently asked questions
Is there an actual performance gain from a Remus exhaust?
Yes, and on a remapped car it's meaningful. A freer flowing exhaust reduces backpressure and lets the engine extract more from the tune, which is where the real gains show up on the rolling road. On a standard car the numbers are more modest, but the improvement in throttle response and exhaust note is noticeable either way.
Are Remus exhaust systems loud or liveable?
It depends which system you go for. The non-resonated cat back systems are noticeably louder than standard and will be heard. The resonated options are more refined and suit daily use better without losing the character entirely. The valved systems are the most versatile because the valve controls the volume depending on how you're driving.
Do Remus exhausts increase horsepower?
Yes. While gains can vary from vehicle to vehicle, a freer flowing exhaust on a tuned car lets the engine perform closer to its actual potential rather than being held back by exhaust restriction, and the rolling road numbers reflect that. On a standard car the gains are smaller but still there.
Are Remus exhausts easy to fit?
The systems are designed as direct replacements for the OE exhaust and use the standard mounting points, so fitment is generally straightforward for someone with the right tools and a ramp. That said, exhaust work on older cars can involve seized bolts and corroded clamps that make things more involved than they look on paper. We carry out fitting in our workshop in Irlam, Manchester if you'd rather leave it with us and know it's been done properly.
What Remus exhaust tips are available?
The Remus exhaust tip range covers chrome, black chrome and carbon insert finishes across straight cut and angled styles in various diameters. Some systems also include titanium internals for a different look on the tips themselves. If you want to know which Remus exhaust tips are available for your specific car and system, browse the range on site or give us a ring on 0161 776 0777 and we'll talk you through the options.
