I ordered this after researching intakes vs filters for the Mk7 GTI. I read a lot online about intakes not making any difference to performance so decided to settle on a drop in panel filter. For me the VWR one is the best quality, although not that cheap. You get what you pay for, this item is high quality and feels as close to OEM as you can get. Since I have an APR Stg1 remap the difference was hardly noticeable although I do feel there is a little more smoothness to acceleration.
