VW Up Upgrades: Where to Start?

If you've got the GTI, a RacingLine Stage 2 ECU remap is one of the most rewarding VW Up upgrades you can make. For the standard 1.0, fresh iridium plugs and a proper service kit go a long way. Browse by engine using the selectors in the side bar to see what's confirmed for your specific car.

The best first VW Up mods are an ECU remap and a spark plug refresh. These are relatively low-cost upgrades that make a noticeable difference to throttle response and performance, particularly on the 1.0 TSI engine.

Are there performance parts available for the VW Up! GTI specifically?

Yes, there are performance parts available specifically for the VW Up! GTI. The GTI uses a 6-speed MQ200 gearbox, so parts like the 4H-Tech short shift kit are engineered for that transmission. Big brake kits and braided brake lines are also available for the GTI.
